Sound, Stress & Wellbeing: An Evidence-Based Guided Relaxation & Sound Journey

This program integrates brief, research-informed education with guided relaxation and a 45-minute sound journey using therapeutic-grade instruments.

Program Flow

  • Welcome and overview

  • Brief educational segment on sound, stress, and the nervous system

  • Floor opens briefly for sharing

  • Aromatherapy, guided breathing, light tapping, and grounding techniques (optional)

  • 45-minute sound journey

  • Integration and closing reflections/sharing

Participant Guidelines

Attendees should bring:

  • A yoga mat

  • Comfortable clothing

  • Blanket and pillow

  • Water bottle

  • Optional eye mask

  • Optional face mask if sessions are held during peak illness season

  • Chairs can be provided for patrons who prefer not to lie on the floor.

For the safety of patrons and the Library, the program presenter requires all participants to sign a standard wellness activity waiver. This program uses therapeutic sound instruments that produce gentle, sustained resonance. Individuals with pacemakers, implanted medical devices, sound-induced epilepsy, or those in the first trimester of pregnancy should not participate without written medical clearance.
